Dr. Anthony M. Calomino’s primary technical experiences include durability analysis and damage modeling research and development for high temperature materials and structural systems. He has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in structural analysis and engineering mechanics, a doctorate in materials science, and has been with NASA since 1985. He served as chief engineer for the Game Changing Development Program under the Space Technology Mission Directorate, deputy principal investigator for flexible systems development within the Hypersonic Inflatable Aerodynamic Decelerator project, and technical lead for materials and structures under the Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate’s Hypersonic Program. He has worked with multiple NASA centers on process development and response modeling of high temperature materials used for propulsion and airframe thermal protection.
